Yamaha B20SC3 Piano: Acoustic Piano with Silent Piano™ System
The Yamaha B20SC3 Piano combines the authentic experience of a Yamaha acoustic piano with the flexibility of the Silent Piano™ SC3 system, allowing you to play with headphones without disturbing others.
Within Yamaha’s new B Series, the B20SC3 offers greater projection and resonance compared to the B10SC3, thanks to its larger cabinet and expanded soundboard.
With dimensions of 116 cm high, 153 cm wide and 58 cm deep, this upright piano delivers a broader, more powerful and balanced sound while maintaining a format suitable for the home.
What Is the Silent Piano™ SC3 System?
The Silent Piano™ system allows you to switch between traditional acoustic sound and silent practice with headphones.
When Silent mode is activated, the hammers stop before striking the strings, while high-precision sensors capture the movement of the keys and digitally reproduce the piano sound through headphones.
The SC3 system incorporates Yamaha technology with binaural sampling, Grand Expression Modeling and non-contact sensors, delivering a natural and immersive sound experience without altering the authentic touch of the acoustic piano.
Thanks to this technology, the Yamaha B20SC3 allows comfortable practice at any time, making it an excellent option for homes, studios and shared environments.
Greater Power and Resonance
The Yamaha B20SC3 features newly developed hammers derived from Yamaha’s experience with the CFX concert grand piano, together with a redesigned soundboard that enhances tonal richness and tonal stability.
Its greater height compared to the B10SC3 provides a larger resonance surface, allowing for a deeper, more dynamic and expansive sound.
In addition, its five back posts reinforce the instrument’s structure and help maintain balanced and stable resonance.
Differences Compared to the Yamaha B2 Silent
The Yamaha B20SC3 Piano replaces the previous Yamaha B2 Silent and introduces significant improvements in both sound and user experience.
The increase in height from 113 cm to 116 cm allows for greater sound projection and a wider dynamic range. It also incorporates a new hammer design, enlarged music rest and soft-close mechanism.
The wider music rest makes studying with large sheet music easier, while the Silent Piano™ system provides maximum flexibility for practising without time restrictions.
