The History of Bösendorfer

The history of Bösendorfer began in 19th-century Vienna, then considered the musical capital of Europe. Thanks to the exceptional quality of its instruments, the brand quickly earned the recognition of the Austrian Imperial Court, establishing a reputation that remains intact nearly two centuries later.

Great composers and performers such as Franz Liszt admired the durability, character and tonal richness of Bösendorfer pianos. Since then, the company has maintained a philosophy based on handcrafted manufacturing, limited production and the constant pursuit of musical excellence.
