Steinway D Victorian Grand Piano
A work of art is timeless. There are instruments that are not only beautiful, but also carry within them generations of history.
This exceptional Steinway & Sons Model D Victorian Grand Piano was built in 1877 and bears the serial number 34955. With 88 keys and 3 pedals, it represents a rare example of early Steinway craftsmanship from one of the most important periods in the evolution of the modern concert grand.
The “Plain Grand Style 2”
Bearing the Steinway emblem, this piano combines historical presence, noble materials and a unique musical character. Its warm, deep and distinctive tone offers a voice from another era, very different from that of contemporary instruments.
History:
Around 1900, the piano belonged to a Swedish family established in New York, where it formed part of the cultural life of their home. Later, it travelled with the family to Göteborg, Sweden, before arriving in Marbella in 1970, where it was placed in Palacio Rosa, an emblematic villa in Nueva Andalucía.
At Royal Pianos, each instrument is a valuable part of who we are, but above all, of what we want to preserve. After years of admiration, we are proud to present this remarkable piano to lovers of music, history and culture.
Restoration:
Passion led us to entrust this instrument to a reputable restoration workshop, where it was carefully restored with respect for its historical integrity and musical functionality.
Its original character, the nobility of its rosewood finish and its unique Victorian presence have been preserved so that this piano can continue to be played, admired and passed on.
We have built the first time machine.
