The materials selected for the C Bechstein Academy A208
Even the demanding selection of materials is decisive for the success of the instruments. For example, the rest bars are made from high-quality softwood, while the bracing bars and soundboard are made from tonewood (mountain spruce).
The other parts of the carcass are made of solid wood glued for stability with appropriate sheet metal barriers.
The coarse sand-formed casting plate is also made of quality gray cast iron, extremely resistant to pressure.
Underlying treble and duplex scales on the tailpiece support a complex and colorful sound spectrum. In the middle register and in the bass, the length of the sound string is limited by special closures.
The strings and tuning pegs are made of the best material.
In creating the Premium line, C Bechstein’s research and development department drew on the traditional Bechstein sound profile: a wide range of tones and dynamics, sublime and noble in sound development.
